Description

Bass fishing is my passion that co-exists with photography.  Few understand the learning and experience needed to capture a lunker.  The right line, the exact $300 pole, $200 reel, bait, color of bait, the different applications of baits, the size hook, the all important knot and the intent stare on the bait while you feel the line for the exact moment, any moment, it strikes and with all senses intensified you jerk the rod back spontaneous with the attack and with just the right tension reel it in.  Your heart is on fire from the Adrenalin and your ears are pounding.  You put your thumb on its lower jaw while reaching for your pliers and take the hook out.  Time is of the essence.  You take a photo, check its mouth for sores or red (red means they are eating crawdads and that will be the next bait you use) and gently put her back in the water.  You cast about 100 casts an hour and fish 10 hours non-stop.  And then you go to a tournament on land.  You are on top of  the Leader Board all day and with 15 minutes left in the tournament a 10 year old girl catches one fish, the fish, the big one, on a Barbie  pole.

i love your story hopefully you learned the lesson and everyone else did to. the picture is awesome also. its not about any money spent on gear. its just having the gear to get out to fish.  personally im a ultralight gear fisherman. its the best fights possible. i get funny looks all the time but when i pull the fish in front of everyone on pressured lake it turns out not to be such a big joke. i fish only a super pressured 1 mile of allowed fishing shoreline and just started bass fishing in oct last year. i fished for trout my full life though. but now that i figures out this lake its all about plastic worm and light line.. i still havent got one over 5 lb but i know dds get pulled up so the hunt is always on for the bigger.  also one interesting thing i learned lately is science has proven some crazy thing about the plastic worm. fish are 10% more likely to hit it then anything else. even over  the food they eat daily..  i can almost say that has to be true cuz its all ive caught bass on at this lake. and ive tried a little of everything. anyways gl nice story and tight lines.
